Digital design to production

Electrical Enclosure 3D Design for Production-Ready Enclosures

Enclosuremfg provides electrical enclosure 3D design, design-for-manufacturing review, and in-house sheet metal fabrication for industrial OEMs.

Before prototyping, your team can review 1:1-scale rendered views and exploded assembly visuals to assess internal layout, routing space, clearances, and component relationships—without waiting for a physical sample.

Send drawings, CAD files, target quantity, and requested design-review deliverables.

Electrical enclosure 3D design and sheet metal manufacturing

Review before metal is cut

Use rendered and exploded views to make remote design reviews more concrete and help surface questions before a prototype is built.

Digital design review

See how the enclosure fits together before prototyping

A 3D model helps engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams evaluate design decisions, especially when stakeholders are reviewing remotely.

  • Component positions

Review specified layout, access clearances, and mounting relationships.

  • Internal routing space

Visually assess space for wiring and other specified items.

  • Assembly relationships

Understand how doors, covers, panels, and frames come together.

  • Fasteners and hardware

Inspect specified hardware locations and potential assembly clashes.

Digital fit and interference checks support design review; they do not replace verification of customer-specified electrical, thermal, environmental, or regulatory requirements.

Engineering scope

What electrical enclosure 3D design covers

An enclosure is more than a folded box. Design review considers the parts it houses, how they mount, how the assembly works, and how it can be manufactured.

Panels and structure

Sheet metal panels, covers, doors, mounting plates, and structural details.

Forming details

Bend geometry and sheet metal allowances reviewed for manufacturability.

Hardware and assembly

PEM nuts, studs, standoffs, welded joints, and assembly access clearances.

Required dimensions, materials, finish, and performance criteria should come from your project specification. We review those inputs alongside supplied CAD and drawings rather than assuming unspecified requirements.

A clear engineering handoff

From CAD review to production

Five mechanical and manufacturing engineers support DFM review, sheet metal unfolding, and structural detailing—providing a technical point of contact between the digital model and manufacturing plan.

  1. 1

    Review the RFQ package

Examine supplied 3D files, drawings, quantities, materials, and finish requirements.

  2. 2

    Clarify design details

Identify questions about dimensions, bends, hardware, assembly, or manufacturing features.

  3. 3

    Review the 3D design

Assess the model and, where included in scope, prepare 1:1 rendered and exploded views.

  4. 4

    Resolve concerns and prepare fabrication

Discuss proposed changes before incorporating them into the agreed design, then use the approved design and requirements to guide production and inspection.

The review process is intended to surface questions early—not to make unapproved changes to your design.

Integrated sheet metal capabilities

In-house production for high-mix OEM work

Enclosuremfg operates an integrated production line for high-mix, low-to-medium-volume work, helping coordinate core fabrication processes.

Typical batch profile: 10–500 units

Cutting and sizing

Three fiber laser cutting machines, including 12 kW and 6 kW systems, process sheet metal profiles. Sawing equipment sizes structural profiles, square tubing, and aluminum extrusions.

Bending and forming

Five multi-axis CNC press brakes across OG35, OG100, and OG200 models support varied part sizes and forming requirements.

Hardware and tapping

Automated clinching supports captive PEM nuts, threaded studs, and standoffs. Servo tapping and drilling-tapping equipment support specified threaded features.

Welding and assembly

Twenty-four welding units include handheld laser welders, MIG and TIG stations, and a cold welder. Platforms and clamping tables up to 2,000 × 6,000 mm support larger assemblies.

Finishing and coating

Stainless steel surface conditioning supports specified brushed and satin finishes. The in-house powder coating line accommodates parts up to 2,500 × 6,000 mm, including many large enclosure panels and structural frames.

The facility can handle compact electrical enclosures and large-format housings and frames up to approximately 4–6 meters, depending on design and manufacturing requirements.

Quality and control

Checks through the production cycle

A six-person QA/QC team supports a closed-loop quality process from incoming material checks through production and final inspection. Inspection activities are planned around part requirements, approved drawings, and order scope.

Quality controls can include

  • Incoming material verification
  • In-process fabrication checks
  • First-article inspection
  • Dimensional checks to agreed drawings
  • Pre-shipment inspection

Include any required inspection documentation or acceptance criteria with your RFQ so they can be reviewed before quoting.

Project fit

Custom enclosures for industrial and OEM applications

Our work is intended for industrial and OEM buyers who need custom sheet metal parts or assemblies—not standard consumer enclosures.

  • Switchboards, electrical cabinets, and industrial control enclosures
  • Battery energy storage and power infrastructure equipment
  • Solar inverter and EV charging equipment housings
  • Telecom and field automation cabinets
  • Machine covers, operator consoles, and automation equipment housings

RFQ preparation

Help us evaluate the right design and fabrication approach

Geometry, assembly needs, finish, and order quantity all inform the production approach. Share the details below that apply to your project.

Geometry and assembly

Include part geometry, assembly method, access constraints, and details for captive nuts, studs, standoffs, or threaded features.

Materials and finish

Specify material, thickness, required coating or surface finish, and any color or appearance requirements.

Quantity and schedule

Share initial batch size, expected repeat demand, and target delivery date.

Design review needs

Tell us whether you need rendered views, exploded assembly drawings, or focused interference review before prototyping.

Start your enclosure project

Request an Electrical Enclosure 3D Design RFQ

Send your drawings, CAD files, and project requirements for review of manufacturing scope, design questions, and quotation inputs. If your team needs to evaluate the design remotely before a prototype, request 1:1 rendered views, exploded assembly drawings, and interference review.

If your design is still in development, send the current files and identify open questions. Our engineering team can review available information and flag details that need clarification.
