NEMA 2 Enclosures with Drip Edge Protection

Enclosuremfg fabricates NEMA 2 enclosures for indoor locations where occasional water drips or light condensation may occur—from utility pipe shafts and underground parking structures to mechanical rooms and basement electrical areas.

A formed, flanged drip edge along the top perimeter directs water away from seams and door openings. It adds minimal material and just one additional bending operation, providing practical drip protection without separate gaskets or secondary covers.

From panel cutting to final inspection

All work stays inside one facility, with material verification, first-article checks, and 100% pre-shipment inspection handled by a six-person QA team.

  1. 01 / Cut

    Fiber laser panels

    Panels are cut on 12 kW and 6 kW fiber lasers.

  2. 02 / Form

    CNC press brakes

    Multi-axis press brakes form the drip edge and enclosure body panels.

  3. 03 / Assemble

    Hardware and welding

    Automatic clinching installs captive hardware. Seams receive low-heat laser or TIG welding to limit distortion.

  4. 04 / Finish

    Powder coating and QA

    Final surfaces are finished on a 2500 × 6000 mm powder coating line, followed by pre-shipment inspection.

Application fit

When a drip-edge NEMA 2 enclosure fits

Choose this design when an enclosure sits below overhead pipes, in areas with seasonal humidity swings, or near garage ceilings where vehicle condensation can form. The flanged lip helps stop water from tracking into door or side joints, at a cost far lower than upgrading to NEMA 3 or 4 ratings.
